The 2021 Randall McDaniel Golf Classic has been cancelled.

Virtual Fundraiser in November to benefit the children at Open Arms

With the continued impact of the COVID pandemic, the Randall McDaniel Golf Classic will not be held in 2021. We are hopeful 2022 will bring a return of the golf tournament. In lieu of a golf tournament this year, Open Arms will once again hold a virtual event in November. We appreciate everyone who supported “Open Hearts for Open Arms” our 2020 virtual event. Thanks to Randall and the generosity of many, the event raised more than 25% of the annual budget of Open Arms. We’re grateful to everyone who rose to the challenge of COVID and helped us provide continued love and opportunity to the children!

Get to Know Randall

14 Seasons, 12 Consecutive Pro Bowls

Randall McDaniel began his pro career in 1988 when he was drafted in the 1st round by the Minnesota Vikings. Fourteen years later, he retired as one of the best offensive guards in the history of the game. His 12 straight Pro Bowl appearances are tied for the most ever in NFL history. He started 202 consecutive games – missing only one game in 220 regular season starts – a remarkable feat for an offensive lineman. Randall was inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor in 2006, the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.

Following his football career, Randall began his second career as an educator at Neill Elementary in the Robbinsdale (MN ) Area Schools. Together with his wife, Marianne, Randall continues to make a positive impact on his community and in the lives of young people. Through his golf tournament, that passion now extends to help support the orphaned children at Open Arms Home in South Africa.

About Open Arms

Open Arms Home for Children was founded by Bob and Sallie Solis of Phoenix, Arizona. After taking a family mission trip to South Africa in 2005, the Solis family felt called to do something about the plight of children orphaned by AIDS in the country.

Since its doors were opened, Open Arms has been so grateful for the support of Randall and Marianne McDaniel. Please join us on October 2nd to continue to make a difference for the 58 children who call Open Arms “home!”

We exist for one reason: to provide a loving residential environment that serves the needs of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
